Snowmaking Update

January 21, 2021

What a productive week of snowmaking we have had!  We have been blowing snow around the clock this since Tuesday, touching up some existing open trails, but more importantly, working on expanding our trail count for the weekend. It looks like it will warm up a bit on Friday afternoon, but starting Friday night, it looks like we have another solid window to run straight through most of next week!

We’re currently making snow on Hurricane, Zip’s, Upper North Slope, Upper Kandahar, Triple Shot, and Emperor.  Those trails will get us through Phase 6 of our snowmaking plan.  After we wrap up there, we’ll move to Phase 7 which includes Lower Kandahar, Lower Arlberg, Lower Hurricane, and Morton’s 60 Terrain Park.

Tomorrow our plan is to reopen the Middle, the Competition Slope, and Lower Koessler, and add the Upper Ledges (what we call the terrain in front of the Meister Hut), and Koessler to our acreage.  Saturday, we’ll add Gentoo, and reopen Macaroni and Chinstrap in the Beginner Basin area.  By Saturday we’ll be 102 acres and 29 trails.

Yeah!
