North Conway, NH - For 50 years, Cranmore Mountain’s Mountain Meisters Race League has provided an opportunity for affordable skiing, riding, and coaching to residents of the local area – this season hosting 28 teams and over 350 racers in the 10-week race series.
Each week, racers take 2 runs through the course, and the Pay2Play program allows racers to take an additional run through the racecourse for a $5 donation to a pre-determined non-profit. Throughout the 10 races during the 2020/21 race season, $5,153 in funds were raised and donated to five local organizations. Since the Meister Pay2Play Program was introduced in 2018, donations have averaged $5,000 annually.
This year’s roster for local non-profits included: The Way Station ($600), Conway Area Humane Society ($805), End 68 Hours of Hunger – MWV ($940), Believe in Books Literacy Foundation ($1,187), and Jen’s Friends Cancer Foundation ($1,621).
“We are thrilled to be able to help out these organizations in a year where fundraising opportunities were scarce for many.” Said Cranmore Snowsports Director, Karen Dolan. “Each of this year’s benefiting non-profits has provided vital services for members of our community, and we are always impressed by how willing our Meisters are to give back to the Valley.”
