A letter from the President

Dear Friends,
 
I hope everyone had a good summer in spite of all the challenges that are upon us these days.
 
Cranmore will wrap up daily summer operations on Labor Day Weekend and we will continue to operate on weekends through Columbus Day.

This summer we offered an abbreviation of our Mountain Adventure Park rides (the Coaster, Giant Swing, and Soaring Eagle Zip Line); Scenic Chairlift Rides, and we also launched a new lift-serviced mountain bike park which was a huge success. While we are grateful that we got through the summer safely, we attribute the success of our summer season to consistent due diligence in the area of following safety guidelines set up by the CDC and the State of NH. Following these guidelines and altering our offerings to help maintain social distancing was key.
 
Now you ask, what will winter look like? We have been contemplating and drafting numerous plans since the fourth of July in an effort to get us closer to establishing protocols we need to put in place for this coming winter. We hope to have a clear picture of these protocols and what winter will look like by the end of September.
 
We are optimistic about the upcoming winter season. We feel we can maintain social distancing with our staff and guests but we also realize that wearing masks will be part of the equation. The good news is that chairs on chairlifts are well distanced and all of our lifts are open-air which helps us to properly adhere to guidelines. Skiing down the mountain should not be a problem based on the vast property we operate.
 
We are currently working with the State of NH to evaluate all protocols we feel are necessary to follow for everyone’s safety. Inside space is more of a challenge and we are working on plans that will help us balance indoor and outdoor space for food and beverage and other needs.  
 
Know that we are working on all of the above now so that when you arrive you will be able to enjoy skiing and snowboarding with your family in a fun and safe environment.
 
As plans start to firm up, we will keep you posted. It will take everyone’s cooperation to make the 2020-21 ski season a success and I thank you in advance for your help, cooperation, and understanding.
 
Stay tuned and let’s hope all the snow forecasts are correct. Looks like we have a lot of snow is on the way!
