Cranmore Welcomes Winter with Festive Events
NORTH CONWAY, NH – Cranmore Mountain Resort is the place to be this winter, with a packed schedule of family friendly and festive events. From weekly Cranapalooza Block Parties, to fundraising events, to new sip and paint nights, there is something to look forward to, beyond skiing and riding, all season long.
Homecoming & Warren Miller’s “Here, There and Everywhere”
This 2016-2017 winter season kicks off Thanksgiving weekend with an expanded winter Homecoming Celebration, including a two night premiere of Warren Miller’s 67th feature film, “Here, There & Everywhere.” The two night premiere will take place in Zip’s Pub and Grill Friday, November 25th and Saturday, November 26th, with doors opening at 6:45pm and the movie starting at 7:30pm. Admission is $12 per person, and tickets can be purchased online in advance at Cranmore.com or at the door. A full bar and limited pub menu will be available.
Saturday, November 26th is the official kick off to winter with the 3rd Annual Brew Fest & Vintage Trail Sign silent auction, featuring live music from Ryan St. Onge. Guests 21 years and older are invited to taste over a dozen beer samples from local and regional breweries. Passports to the tasting are $15 and the first 100 registrants will receive a free Cranmore Homecoming commemorative tasting glass. The event will be held in Zip’s Pub from 3pm-5pm. All proceeds from the silent auction support the Jimmy Mersereau Scholarship Foundation; auction winners will be announced at 5pm.
C-More’s NYE Celebration
Ring in 2017 with C-more the penguin with a special New Year’s edition of Cranapalooza. Geared for guests and families of all ages, join us for all kinds of activities and entertainment, a dance party in Schneider Square, fire performance, cook s’mores around a campfire, and partake in family games and activities all before an early 6:30pm fireworks show.
Cranmore’s signature winter event, Cranapalooza is back for another season of DJ dance parties in Schneider Square with C-more the Penguin, live music, outdoor entertainment, family activities, smore’s, fireworks on select nights and more! Cranapalooza takes place Saturday nights starting January 7th through March 11th, with bonus days on holiday and vacation periods. Fireworks will be held on December 31st, January 14th, February 18th and March 11th.
NEW Sip n’ Paint Winter Series
Cranmore will introduce an all new Sip n’ Paint Series to take place in Zip’s Pub and Grill on three select nights this season. During each class, a professional artist from Jackson Art Studio Gallery will guide the group through technique and color mixing to create a unique painting created by the artist. Admission is $65 per person and includes a drink ticket, snacks and painting supplies. Each class will start promptly at 7pm and participants are encouraged to arrive 15-20 minutes early. Each class is limited to 45 participants.
Ticket Rollback Day
On Friday, January 6th, Cranmore will offer $10 lift tickets for all ages on Ticket Rollback Day. This exclusive deal is designed to commemorate Cranmore’s legacy as one of America’s oldest ski areas. This year’s Ticket Rollback Day will include après entertainment in Zip’s Pub from Greg Walsh 1-4pm, a Bloody Mary Bar from 11am-1pm, Tuckerman’s Brewing Beer Tasting beginning at 11am, plus fun games and activities.
The World’s Largest Ski and Snowboard Lesson
Join Cranmore in a National attempt to make the Guinness Book of World Records for the Largest Ski and Snowboard Lesson. Taking place at 1pm Eastern Time on Friday, January 6th, the lesson is open to first time skiers and snowboarders, ages 8+. For this day only, lessons will be $10 and will include 2 hours of instruction, equipment rental and a lower mountain lift ticket. Participants can register online, in advance, at Cranmore.com.
Hannes Schneider Meister Cup Weekend
A spring time favorite, the 21st Annual Hannes Schneider Meister Cup Weekend will take place March 10th through March 12th. The event kicks off Friday night with an EMS sponsored Randonee Night Tour where skiers can skin up and down the mountain guided by their headlamps, a Tyrolean themed dinner and torchlight parade. Saturday, the celebration of ski school founder Hannes Schneider’s arrival at the mountain continues with a dual giant slalom race, ice carving demonstration, silent auction, vintage skiwear contest, après entertainment, prizes, music and more. Teams and single racers are encouraged to register in advance at Cranmore.com.
NEW Flannel Festival
Show your Northern New Hampshire pride on March 18th by wearing flannel and join us for games, fun photo opportunities, live music in Zip’s Pub and Grill, and an on-hill flannel parade, open to skiers and riders of all ability levels.
NEW KidsRule & Believe in Books Literacy Foundation present: Character Story Time
On three special days this winter, the Arlberg Childrens Center will welcome some of your favorite literary characters for Story Time. After the ski program ends, participants are welcome back to the Arlberg lodge to read a favorite book with one of their most recognizable character mascots. Previous characters include Curious George, Clifford the Big Red Dog, the Lorax, and Winnie the Pooh. All KidsRule participants on these special days receive a free book and a photo with that day’s character. Limited availability – advanced purchase recommended.
Recurring Winter Events
Mountain Tours: On select Saturdays, join Cranmore ambassadors for guided mountain tours. Tours are designed to give guests a behind the scenes look at the mountain. Guided tours are complimentary with a valid lift ticket or season pass, and meet at the base of the Skimobile Express Quad at 10:30am. Tours will take place on December 31st, January 14th and February 18th.
First Tracks with the GM: On select days this winter, Cranmore season passholders can join Cranmore President and GM, Ben Wilcox to lay first tracks on the mountain followed by cinnamon rolls and coffee at the Meister Hut. First tracks meet at 7:45am at the base of the Skimobile Express Quad on Tuesday, December 27th, Sunday, January 8th, Sunday, January 22nd, Sunday, February 5th, and Sunday, March 12th.
