Cranmore Mountain Resort to Host Military Families for a Day of Skiing and Winter Fun

North Conway, NH (February 10, 2019) – Just as the winter season hits its peak, 100 local Veterans, Service Members, and Family members will gather at Cranmore Mountain Resort to explore the resort’s peaks. On Sunday, February 10th participants will be welcomed for a day of skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing. The free day of winter activities is made possible through Cranmore Mountain’s ongoing partnership with Home Base, a Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Program.

This event is part of Home Base’s Adventure Series, a series of free events throughout the year aimed at strengthening Military Family bonds before, during and after deployment. Veterans and their Families may explore a new sport, connect with other military families, and learn more about the clinical services, education, and research offered by Home Base.

Cranmore will provide equipment, instructors, lift tickets, lessons, and tubing equipment for all participants. Many of the military families in attendance have been attending the event for the past several years. Amongst those families in attendance on Sunday will be several members of the Home Base Veteran Outreach Team, there to greet the military families on the slopes that morning.

“Cranmore is  committed to creating a place where our guests can become better at the things they love doing here. We are proud of our continued partnership with Home Base, and hope to continue providing veterans and their families with the opportunity to enjoy our winter pastime,” added Rebecca Deschenes, Director of Marketing at Cranmore.

“Families return year after year for this event,” says Patrick Smith, a Veteran Outreach Coordinator at Home Base. “It’s a day the entire family can enjoy, and it’s a way for these local military families to meet and network with other like-minded families.”

For more information on Home Base or Home Base’s Adventure Series, please visit the Home Base website or contact Grady Foster. For day-of media coverage, members of the media should check in with Rebecca Deschenes at Cranmore’s Group Sales Office or call 603-356-1106.
