Know Before You Go - Health & Safety

We are looking forward to entering our 83rd winter ski season.  With a projected opening date of Friday, December 4th we are excited to welcome everyone safely back to the mountain.  

You will notice new policies and procedures that have been put into place at the resort that adhere to State of NH guidelines with an emphasis on face coverings and physical distancing.  We ask that everyone respect and cooperate with these modifications so we can all enjoy the ski season.

We are truly committed to the safety of our employees and guests this coming winter.  As our guests, please remember if you or any member of your party or family is not feeling well, stay home.  We will gladly work with you to reschedule your visit.

Below are some things you can expect during your trip to Cranmore this winter (subject to change based on state guidelines):

Face Coverings

Face coverings will be required at all times in all of our indoor spaces, in lift lines, while riding and unloading a lift, on all Mountain Adventure Park attractions and outdoors at the resort when physical distancing of six feet or greater cannot be attained.  The only exception is while skiing and riding, and when seated in a designated dining area.

If a guest is identified without a face covering under the guidelines mentioned above, our staff will politely remind you to put on your mask, covering both your nose and mouth. 

Sanitization

Enhanced and increased cleaning protocols for all high-traffic and high-touch areas have been implemented at the resort.  We have installed hand sanitizing stations located throughout the resort, and at the entrance to all indoor spaces. We have also installed Plexiglass or other types of barriers/hygiene screens in frequent, close interaction areas wherever practical for the safety of our guests and staff. 

Season Passholders

Season Passholders will have priority status at the resort.  At this time there will be no restrictions put in place on Cranmore Happy Trails and multi-mountain season pass options, and passholders will have the ability to access the resort when their season pass is valid.  Passes will be direct to lift as in the past.  As we move closer to the season, all season passholders will be given a Season Passholder Code of Conduct that will outline what is expected at the resort this winter.  The code must be adhered to, to assure everyone stays safe at the resort and to prevent a Covid-19.

We want you to be confident in your season pass purchase for next year and have introduced a Happy Trails Season Pass Assurance Program for all Cranmore season pass options.   View pass assurance details here.

To ensure that we can maintain the passholder experience and not have to implement restrictions on season pass use due to COVID-19 capacity limitations, we shut off season pass sales for all season pass products on November 1, 2020, with the exception of the NH College Pass, Midweek Pass, and Midweek Uphill Skinning Pass.

Lift Tickets

This season we are asking that all lift tickets be purchased online, in advance at book.cranmore.com.  To start the season, we will be reducing the number of lift tickets available on any given day to allow for appropriate social distancing, and to enhance the experience while on the mountain. 

To streamline ticket products, we will only be offering full day lift tickets, valid from lift opening until 4pm and Twilight tickets valid from 4pm – 8pm on Saturdays and holiday periods.  Guests looking to visit on consecutive days must purchase a lift ticket for each day. 

When you arrive to the resort, please send one (1) person in your party into the ticket office to retrieve tickets. 

There will be no sales onsite at the ticket office.  Ticket dates can be adjusted up to 72 hours the before original arrival date. Inside the 72 hour window, ticket purchases are final.  

Ski & Snowboard Lessons

Lessons

For the safey of our staff and guests, we will be offering private lessons only for adults and children, with the option to add up to 3 friends or family members, of similar ability levels, to the lesson.  With smaller glass sizes we’re also able to give a more customized experience. 

Our reinvented lesson program for the season also includes:

  • Advanced reservations required – same day and walk up will not be available
  • Facecoverings will be required through the entire lesson.  Physical distancing will be practiced in all lessons with no physical assistance from the instructor.  This means for kids lessons, parents might be asked to stay near by to assist if needed. 
  • All guests taking a lesson will be required to undergo an online health-screening and temperature check prior to their arrival. 

Seasonal Programs:

All seasonal programs (Rattlesnakes, Race Transition, and Freestyle and Beyond) this year will continue to meet on Saturdays, Sundays and during select vacation periods as in the past.  This year’s program will run from 8:30am to 12:30pm with a break incorporated.  Lunch will not be included this year due to safety concerns and parents will need to make lunch arrangements with their children when they pick them up.  

All seasonal programs will run with reduced numbers for the season with a smaller class size of 6 kids per instructor.  

With capacity restrictions in place due to Covid-19, all seasonal programs are currently sold out for the season.  Please reach out to the main ticket office for additional information and to inquire about being added to the waitlist 603-356-5544 x242.

Chairlifts

To maintain distancing on the chairlift, we will only be seating parties arriving to the resort together, or: two singles seated on opposite sides of a four-person lift.  Face coverings are required in lift lines, while riding the lift and while unloading to prevent any cross contamination.  

Food and Beverage & Indoor Facilities

While lodges will be open this winter, capacity for all buildings will be limited.  You will also notice that we have modified indoor traffic patterns in all base lodges and food service areas to manage guest flow in more congested areas. 

We are encouraging everyone to limit time spent in all indoor spaces, especially during weekends and holiday/vacation periods and use their vehicle as their personal base lodge for the day.  Arrive to the resort ready to hit the snow by booting up in your car and leaving personal items in there as well, and returning for lunch and “brown bag it” or grab something to go from one of our dining options.  We will not be allowing guests to store belongings in any of the base lodges this winter. 

Public restrooms will be available on the first floor of the Main Base Lodge, in the Red Sled area on the back side of the Main Base Lodge, and at the Artist Falls Lodge. Restrooms located in Zip’s Pub and the Meister Hut will be available for indoor restaurant patrons only.  We will be adding portable outdoor facilities throughout the resort’s base area to increase the number of restrooms available. 

You’ll notice all dining options will look a little different this year, and we ask for everyone’s cooperation and patience by adhering to our modified winter operating plan.  While some options will not be available for this winter (Red Sled Chicken & Waffles, Zip’s Mug Club, and the Kandabar), we are excited to introduce some new and exciting dining options to the resort.  To learn what to expect at our food and beverage options, click here.

Rental Shop

We will be offering rental equipment this winter, managing the number of people inside the rental shop at one time.  All rental reservations must be done online, at least 48 hours prior to your arrival.  Guests will be given the option to choose a designated pick-up time to pick up pre-set equipment once arriving to the resort.  

Only guests renting equipment will be allowed inside the building. If a child is renting, only one (1) parent will be allowed in with the child. 

Equipment will be fully sanitized between each guest use. 

Tubing and Mountain Adventure Park

The Tubing and Mountain Adventure Park will be available this winter and will be available in 2-hour time blocks.  All tickets must be purchased online, prior to arrival, and are based strictly on availability as we will be reducing park capacity to allow for proper physical distancing.  Face coverings will be required while in the tubing park and on all Mountain Adventure Park attractions. 

Upon arrival to the resort, head to the Artist Falls Lodge, and send one (1) person into the ticket area to retrieve tickets. 

Sport Thoma Retail

Sport Thoma Ski and Snowboard Shop will be open this winter mirroring resort hours of operation.  Please note that the number of people allowed inside will be limited at a given time, by the State of New Hampshire

Seasonal lockers

Seasonal lockers will be available for guests this winter. Please note face coverings will be required to enter locker rooms, and room capacity numbers will be posted.  Hand sanitizer will be located at the entrance of each locker room.  Please disinfect hands prior to entering and leaving.

Please send one (1) person in your party in the locker room at a time and be mindful of time spent inside.

Parking/Unload Zone

The parking lots will run as normal this season, and reserved parking spaces will still be available with Cranmore Club purchases.  Please use physical distancing with other guests while loading and unloading your vehicle.
