Cranmore Announces end of Season
On Sunday, March 15, we decided to end the season early, based on the recent developments related to COVID-19. We felt closing the resort made sense to assure the safety, health, and well-being of our guests and employees. The collective goal is to help slow down the virus so we can all get back to our normal lives as soon as possible.
Cranmore had its earliest opening in history this winter on November 16, 2019. While closing on March 15 seems early, luckily, it is past the date of most of our scheduled programs and events. With rain in the forecast and the impact of our southern exposure, we probably would have wrapped up the season by the third or fourth weekend of March. Closing on March 15 has allowed us to end the season with quality skiing and riding, and I hope everyone got a chance to experience the excellent conditions.
In other resort news, we will continue to work with Atlantic Construction to complete Building II of Kearsarge Brook (Phase II of our Base Area Master Redevelopment Plan). All indications show we are on schedule and will have units ready for next winter. Work at the resort will now transition to prepare for opening our 10th summer season featuring our Aerial Adventure Park, Mountain Adventure Park and new Mountain Bike Park.
Thanks for a wonderful season. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the longest in history (last year), but it was still great!
Thanks again and be safe,
President & GM
