Cranmore Race Team 2017

Cranmore Race Team

Message for New Parents

As a new parent of the Cranmore Race Team (CRT), whether you are moving up from seasonal program or a new family joining the Cranmore Family for the first time, we would like to welcome you to the CRT Family and thank you for choosing us. Our website is designed to show you what race program is all about and answer your questions as you and your athlete begin the journey into ski racing. Our goal is not to overwhelm you but to introduce you to the world of race. As a new parent we are here to guide you and answer all those questions, concerns, and let you know you are not the first to ask. I want to thank our CRT families, athletes, dedicated coaching staff and race operations for all their hard work, continuous support and pride they have put into the success of our program. Cranmore has a deep heritage of ski racing dating back 75+ years beginning with the Gibson Cup races. Please take time to explore our website and let us know if you need more assistance. We have a strong, knowledgeable, and experienced parent base that is ready and willing to be your mentor and assist you through the early days of race program. They have all been where you are at the moment! We look forward to getting to know your family.

A message From Program Director and Head Coach

Fun is such an important part of ski racing. It is my personal opinion that if you are not having fun while doing something you need to change what you are doing. The Cranmore Race Team coaching staff is committed to making this a positive, fun experience for all kids in the program.

I love the sport of skiing! Growing up in the Mount Washington Valley I was a member of CRT where I developed this lifelong passion for the sport of skiing and ski racing. Along the way I also learned to set goals, work hard, make good choices (most of the time), be a good team member, build confidence, and grow as a ski racer. These are just a few life skills that serve us all well and hopefully I can pass them along to the athletes.

I watch friendships grow among the athletes and it reminds me of the lasting friendships I developed while ski racing with CRT. Nobody understands better the effort and hard work it takes to become a good ski racer than someone who shares similar goals. Being part of CRT is such a great experience and I'm glad I get to share it with many athletes who come in and out of the program. The best part of my job is being on the hill watching athletes train. I love being able to interact with the athletes on a daily basis. It enables me to share my ski racing knowledge and experiences. I get to connect with so many young athletes and watch them improve from day to day. You can see how much they enjoy skiing and working hard towards their goals. I guess they are having fun!

I recognize the huge commitment the athletes make and more importantly the financial and time commitment from the racer's parents and for that I say Thank You. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions/concerns or suggestions.

Ski fast, stay safe, dream big and most of all have fun!
