2-4-13 Snowmaking Report

Early February cold weather is helping us resurface and build our bases so we can ski well into March.  With Easter being March 31 we are making this our goal this year and with the deep base of snow we have built we are optimistic that this is possible.

Currently we are building up the base on the NASTAR course for Meisters and NASTAR racing.   We are also finalizing our jumps on the new Director’s Cut Terrain Park.

If you skied on Sunday, February 3 you enjoyed huge snowmaking whales on Ledges, Koessler and Skimeister.  These have all been groomed out now but the soft snowmaking snow was fun to ski and ride!

We are also putting more snow on Easy Street, Gibson, Middle, Kandahar, Bandit, Hurricane, Snow Train and Upper Beginner’s Luck this week to assure a strong base and to get our surfaces back to true packed powder.

Mother Nature has not been kind to us again but we have compensated this with more snowmaking than any time in our history.  The skiing and riding is great right now so get out and enjoy it.  We may also be looking at some natural now before the February vacation week so everything is looking up for a positive February and March.
