2012 Buddy Werner State Championships

March 9, 10, 11 2012 

Giant Slalom and Slalom

Registration: 

Friday, March 9th        4:00-8:00 pm               Ticket Haus (Main Base area)
Saturday, March 10th   7:30-9:00 am               3rd floor of Skimobile Station (Main base)

 

Entry: 

$80.00 (includes 2-day lifts, events, and a t-shirt)

Training Day:              

Friday, March 9th
Slalom and Giant Slalom training lanes will be provided from 10 am-3 pm. 
Cranmore coaching staff will be responsible for course setting through this day
Racer training ticket will be $20.00 and may be purchased at the Ticket Haus at 8:30 am.

Racers:            

You must have your bib and 2-day lift ticket on for lift access.  Do not return your bib until after the Sunday race.  You will use the same number for each event.  Bibs will be collected on the deck of Zip’s Pub & Grill after 2pm.

 

Coaches:         

Please email your coaches list by mountain (10 coaches per mountain maximum) to Kathy Badger, Race Secretary at badger5@roadrunner.com.  Kathy Badger may also be reached by phone at (603) 367-8278.  Complimentary coach tickets will be provided to coaches on the NHARA list providing they present current USSA cards and NHARA cards.

 

Parents/ Siblings:          

Family tickets may be purchased all weekend at the Ticket Haus beginning on Friday.  Adult tickets are $42/day, teen (ages 13-18) tickets are $35/day, and child (ages 6-12) tickets are $28/day.

 

Mountain Rules:         

To make this a great event for all, please observe these rules:

  • Lift tickets must be worn and visible to lift attendants
  • No free skiing on either of the competition hills at any time
  • Please refer to the NHARA Code of Conduct and Racer Responsibility Code in your NHARA book.
  • We ask that you do not cross race course fencing, ropes or other closures.  We welcome you to view the racing from behind the fencing and banners.  Cranmore Mountain Resort has made every effort to provide safe viewing areas for spectators.  Please do not compromise the safety of our young racers by going on the race courses.
  • Please regard all slow zones and be respectful of all guests
  • Clean up after yourself
  • Use BWL bag check for the safety and security of your belongings
  • Clubs may set up a picnic area along the Duck Pond Fence. NH Liquor law prohibits alcohol consumption anywhere except in licensed facilities. No tailgating parties in the parking lots!

Venue:                           

Start will be at the Lowell Thomas (top of Middle Slope) and end near the bottom of the North Slope.

Safety:                            

Yellow flag zones will be positioned at the Cannon snow gun (close to Tower 10 on the Skimobile Quad and at the top of the North Slope. Athletes should ski off of the course immediately should they be instructed to do so by an official waving a yellow flag.  For the safety of our athletes, coaches and course workers and athletes are requested to strictly follow the schedule, and any racer running the course outside of the designated time will be disqualified.

Reminders

For your convenience you will be able to register for the entire weekend and pick up your bib on Friday, March 9th, from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Ticket Haus (Main Base area).

Lodging options:  Check www.cranmore.com and click on ‘Lodging’ to view some of our local deals.  In addition, the Red Jacket and Oxen Yoke have offered special deals which will be visible on the Cranmore website with the weekend’s race information.

Day of race registration will take place on Saturday, March 10th from 7:30-8:30 am, on the 3rd floor of Skimobile Station in the Main Base area.

Due to the limited storage area and the safety and security of you and your belongings, all racers, coaches, and parents are asked to use the BWL free bag check.  The bag check will be located beside Skimobile Station on Saturday and Sunday.  Any gear left inside will be moved to the bag check.  Please be considerate of all and check your gear.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation. 

Return your bib to the deck of Zip’s Pub and Grill from 2-3:15 pm on Sunday and receive a coupon for free ice cream!  Thanks to Friendly’s Ice Cream for their generous donation.
