March 3rd Update
It's March! Time for spring skiing, even though it's been very wintery still. I don't know about you guys but I'm ready for some nice slushy and cruddy mashed potato riding. I will say that this cold weather we're getting now is going to make for great snow conditions for the rest of season but just a tiny bit warmer weather would be nice. Mother nature: please, no more negative temperatures!
I'm sure everyone had a great vacation week with a lovely powder day and a couple of bluebird days in there as well. Luckily, one of those bluebirds was the day of our last official competition for the season. Here are the results from Jibbin' for Jen's Slopestyle Competition:
Men's Ski 14 yrs & under
1st Paris VdiBrandi
2nd Joey Riley
3rd Emery Roberts
Men's Ski 15 yrs & over
1st Nick Philips
2nd Tim Ryan
3rd Eric DiBrandi
4th Jake Egan
1st Devan Bynoe
2nd Dominic Gilmore
3rd Jack Rybland
Thank you guys for coming out and throwing down and thank you to all of the spectators coming out to work on your tans and give us an audience for the competition. Everyone was awarded great prizes from Saga, Bern, and Shreddy Times. Our winners Paris, Nick, and Devan were able to walk away with some new planks from Ramp and a board from Arbor. Not only were our rider's walking away with prizes, with registration fees and t-shirt sales, we were able to raise $221 for Jen's Friends Cancer Foundation. This local non-profit provides supplemental financial assistance and other resources to cancer patients and their families who are uninsured, underinsured, or financially challenged, allowing them to focus on battling cancer without worrying about the indirect financial burdens that often arise. Financial support is tailored to the individual's needs, and may include support for housing, utilities, groceries, pharmaceuticals, childcare and travel costs. Thank you to Kathy and Maureen for helping out with coordination of the event and I hoping that each year we can make this competition bigger and bigger to help out our valley's community.
