Cranmore Hosts Springtime Events
There is still plenty of winter left at Cranmore with a variety of events to close out the season, including the 12th Annual Hannes Schneider Meister Cup Race and all new Dynafit Nachtspektakel Tour.

North Conway, NH- There is still plenty of winter left at Cranmore with a variety of events to close out the season, including the 12th Annual Hannes Schneider Meister Cup Race and all new Dynafit Nachtspektakel Tour. The final event of the Darkside Night Series freestyle competition in the Darkside Terrain Park will be held at 5pm Saturday, March 5th. Competitors will have one last chance at earning points to what they have earned throughout the series, to earn prizes from event sponsors, Fire on the Mountain, Eastern Boarder and Rossignol. Registration will be from 2-4pm and is $10 plus a seasons pass or lift ticket. The competition will be a jam format. March 5th Cranmore offers a Fiesta themed Cranapalooza to coincide with the Mount Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce, Cinco De Marzo Chili Cookoff. Guests who present their Chili Cookoff bracelet will receive one free s'mores kit at Cranapalooza. The night time festival will include Bobo-T-Clown in the Eating House, live music from Bill Cameron in Zip's Pub, s'mores, face painting, giveaways and more. The Dynafit Nachtspektakel Moonlight Mountain Tour is a new addition to the 15th Annual Hannes Schneider Meister Cup weekend at Cranmore. Scheduled for Friday, March 11th, participants can skin up the mountain to the summit of Cranmore, where a hot chocolate station will be staffed, and then ski down and end the night with a filling Tyrolean-stype buffet dinner and reception. Entrants must have skis, skins and a headlamp. Eastern Mountain Sports of North Conway will have Dynafit demo gear available for rent at their nearby North Conway store. Entry fee is $75 and benefits the New England Ski Museum. Nachtspektakel participants are welcome at the Welcome Reception and hearty Tyrolean buffet on Friday night, and will receive an exclusive Meister Cup pin. The Hannes Schneider Meister Cup Race- A Celebration of Ski History, benefiting the New England Ski Museum will be held on March 12th. The race combines the best of skiing today with the warm nostalgia of yesterday, honoring the founding father of ski instruction, Austrian Hannes Schneider, who introduced skiing to millions around the globe. There is a $75 individual racer fee or $375 for a 5-person team. Race entry includes an all day lift ticket for March 12, 2011, admission to the welcome reception Friday, March 11th with a hearty Tyrolean buffet and torch light parade, continential breakfast the day of the race, race day lunch, a commemorative gift bag and exclusive Meister Cup pin, an apres ski party after the race, and support for the preservation of ski history. March 12th is also the final Cranapalooza of the season, a Luau themed party inlcuding fireworks at 7:30pm and live music from Dennis and Davey in the Eating House at 5pm. C-more the Penguin, Cranmore's beloved mascot, will join his other mascot friends for the second annual Mascot Jam on Saturday, March 19th. Mascots from all over will compete in various activites from a tubing hill race, obstacle course and dance off to see who will walk off with top honors. Everyone's favorite spring time event, the Spring Splash will be held on Saturday, March 26th. Participants can see how far they can ski make it across the slush pool on skis or snowboard. Registration is free with a lift ticket or season pass and takes place from 8-10:30am on the Eating House deck or Events Den if inclimate weather. The Splash will start at noon. Cranmore will end the 10-11 season on Sunday March 27th. The Darkside will have their end of the season Cranarchy event in the Darkside Terrain Park with a free BBQ and jam for their dedicated park riders starting at noon.
