Job Title: Vehicle Mechanic

Reports To: Mountain Operations Manager

Pay Status: Hourly/Non Exempt

Benefit Status: Group 1 (Full Time Year Round)

Cranmore Mountain Resort is seeking a self-motivated and experienced individual to join the Vehicle Maintenance Department.  This position is responsible for ensuring the proper and safe operation of all resort vehicles by completing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions and conducting training for personnel.  During summer operations, the Vehicle Mechanic conducts comprehensive in-house summer maintenance on all snow groomers.  Immediate Start Date. Benefits include medical, dental and prescription coverage, 401(k) (after 12 months), Paid Time Off from your date of hire, and many resort privileges and discounts.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure proper operation of vehicles and equipment by completing preventative maintenance of all resort vehicles, including but not limited to; trucks, snowmobiles, snow groomers, tractors, mowers, and other small engines.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and repairs of malfunctions and damages in accordance with manufacturers’ guidelines and regulatory compliance.
  • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and checking for defects.
  • Remove defective components by dismantling parts and engines using hand and power tools; examine and diagnose cause of failure and correct the condition.
  • Assess and maintain inventory of equipment, parts, and supplies and conserve resources when possible.
  • Prepare operational, maintenance, and repair reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
  • Maintain technical knowledge and continuity and oversee technical and safety training for all vehicle operators.
  • Flexible working hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call hours during winter operations.
  • Must possess your own tools.

 

Qualified candidates will possess:

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of automotive maintenance or mechanical background with strong working knowledge of snow groomers, heavy equipment, small engines, fuel systems, hydraulic and hydrostatic systems. 
  • Valid driver license and DOT physical certification required.
  • Ability to operate snow groomer, snowmobile and ATV.
