The top choice of New England ski resorts for growing families

Of all New England ski resorts, only Cranmore Mountain is known for a fun filled environment that is totally based on meeting the needs of young families. At Cranmore Mountain's New Hampshire ski resorts, you will find plenty to do for everyone including your youngest toddler and your most athletic teenager.

The latest terrain park at New Hampshire ski resorts.

The Darkside Freestyle Terrain Park on the South Slope has undergone a complete makeover for 2002/2003. The park has an expanded array of park features. You will now find eleven rails, trannies, tabletops, funboxes and spines. Designed by terrain park architect Chris "Gunny" Gunnarson, the park is accessible for everyone - from those just getting comfortable with leaving the snow, to seasoned air veterans looking to go big.

Unlike other resorts, Cranmore is known for special events and activities designed to bring the whole family out together under the stars.

Try Snowblades, the latest craze

Skiers of all ages have gone crazy over Snowblades. These terrain park inspired wonders allow skiers to lay deep carves and perform aerial tricks. Besides being significantly shorter than skis (thus making it easier for spinning tricks), snowblades are wider than normal and feature a twin-tip design. So if you're up for a challenge, it's time to sign up for snowblading lessons at Cranmore Mountain.

If skateboarding is your kid's passion, let him try Snowdecks for a little skateboarding on snow. Snowdecks are basically skateboards without wheels. By elevating this skateboard deck a couple of inches above the snow, riders can use a narrow snowboard constructed subdeck to angulate turns with their toes and heels hanging over the top deck. Riders can feel as confident as they would on a snowboard with bindings.

Snowbikes are another popular sport. Originally used by non-skiing lift operators to get down the hill after work, snowbikes offer tremendous control and excitement. The wheels are replaced with skis, and the rider wears short skiboards for balance and control. Snowbikes are also used in Booth Creek's Snowsports Schools as a tool to accelerate the learning process.

You can also introduce your kids to Snowscoots. Half scooter, half snowboard, snowscoots are designed for jumping and carving. A twist of the handlebars and a little foot pressure and the snowscoot carves up the corduroy.

Our Grand Prix Tubing Center is the coolest tubing center at any of the ski resorts and this season we've gotten even better. We've added music, colorful banners and pennants, brightly colored red snow tubes, and radar guns with huge readouts at the end of two of the six tubing lanes to show you how fast you're going how cool is that!
