Cranmore Competition Programs

CRANMORE RACE TEAM (ages 8 - 14)

December 5, 2009 - March 21, 2010

Our program has earned state, regional, national and international recognition with our athletes' performances at the Buddy Werner League Championships, Junior Olympics and the International Children's Events.

This program is for athletes who have reached a high level of skiing proficiency and are committed to ski racing. Racers participate in the NHARA Children's Racing Series (J5 -ages 8-10, J4 - ages 11 & 12, and J3 - ages 13 & 14).

CRANMORE RACE TEAM (ages 15 +)

December 5, 2009 - March 21, 2010

CRT - J1/2 Racing

The J1/2 program is intended to allow older athletes to take advantage of the many offerings of Cranmore Race Program. Cranmore has designed this program to allow athletes to continue to train and attend a minimum number of races. We hope to make racing logistic and travel easier for parent while allowing athletes to transition into the J2 racing.

As a J2 racer, it is extremely important for the athlete to decide what is best for them depending on academics, social events, dedication, and goals set for skiing and ski racing. If your athlete is focused on establishing a USSA point profile and qualifying for the Macomber Series and moving up the J2 competition progression, this program is not a choice for them. We recommend checking into MWVST at www.mwvskiteam.com. Our program is designed for athletes who may not be quite ready mentally and/or skill wise or for athletes who desire not to make a full time commitment as MWVST athletes due to other school or social commitments. Our goal is to let athletes continue to enjoy ski racing, friends, family and school on a less demanding schedule enabling them to enjoy skiing and ski racing in high school and for a lifetime. The NHARA Guide (pages 28 – 32) explains J2 race series with many options available and may answer questions or help you make a decision.

CRT - High School Ski Team Training

The high school race program has been developed to provide athletes that are involved in a high school race team the opportunity to train at Cranmore Mountain Resort.

The high school program will focus on developing the following athlete:

  • Dry land training
  • Athlete physical development
  • Development of racing tactics
  • SL and GS gate training
  • Course inspection techniques
  • Timed race runs
  • Ski equipment tuning
  • Development of skiing fundamentals
  • Development of racing techniques
  • Video analysis with V1 system
  • Mental preparation
  • Race simulation

Cranmore Snowboard and Freeride Teams

CRANMORE FREESTYLE (CFT) TEAM (ages 8-17)

December 5, 2009 - March 21, 2010

This program is designed for skiers and riders ready to take their skills to the competitive arenas of New Hampshire and beyond. Athletes receive additional, more intense and frequent competition training and development.

The competition components of Freestyle Team provide a child a more structured environment to prepare for sanctioned event series. All participants must join USSA and/or USASA dependent on the competition schedule. This program will require parental support and additional fees for preseason training venues.
