Wine Dinners

Best of NHCranmore Mountain’s Meister Hut Wine Dinners were selected by the editors of New Hampshire Magazine as “Best of NH 2008” for Mountaintop Dinners.

The dinners, which will be offered on five nights during Cranmore’s winter operating season in 2009-2010, were launched in 2008 to great acclaim. They feature a four-course menu with wine pairings in the rustic setting of the mountaintop Meister Hut. Guests choose between a selection of five entrees, each accompanied by wine carefully matched to each course. Diners reach the summit via the high-speed express quad. The dinner is open to skiers and non-skiers alike with a welcome reception starting at 6pm each evening.

Soup: Sherry Shrimp Bisque

Appetizers: (choice of one)

  • Alaskan King Crab cakes with Lime ginger aioli
  • Grilled Shrimp Cocktail
  • Asparagus and wild mushroom tart with a Madera wine butter sauce

Salad: Baby spinach salad and roasted Anjou pears with a blood orange sesame dressing

Intermezzo

Entrée: (Choice of one)

  • Cinnamon dusted boneless Muscovy duck breast on truffle polenta topped with a roasted mission fig port wine sauce
  • Grilled, spice rubbed hanger steak, smothered with gorgonzola butter, caramelized Vidalia onion accompanied with herb roasted fingerling potatoes.
  • Pan seared sesame crusted Blue Nose (fish) over rice noodles, Asian vegetables and a soy dredge.
  • Oven braised pork shank, over roasted shallot wild mushroom Yukon gold mashed potato, with a garlic burgundy wine pan sauce.
  • Grilled Jumbo shrimp and mango brochette with guava lime glaze over lemon grass scented Jasmine rice.

Vegetable: Sautéed haricot vertes (baby green beans)
