NORTH CONWAY, NH – Cranmore Mountain in North Conway, NH launches its annual Halloween event on Thursday, October 2, 2008, with a new “Local’s Night.” Residents of Carroll and Coos Counties, NH and Oxford County, Maine, receive $7 off the price of admission – only $18 (with proof of residency). This rate applies on 2 special dates, opening night Oct. 2 and then again on Thurs. Oct. 30th.
“Last year, the Ghoullog was very successful, but we had many local residents who work Fridays and Saturdays ask if we could offer some dates when they could come too,” stated General Manager, Ben Wilcox. “We hope by offering this 25% discount and opening on two Thursday nights will allow everyone to come experience this event."
The Ghoullog runs throughout October, where visitors board the quad chairlift for a night-time ride to the summit for a haunted mountain-top tour. The tour starts in the Eating House lodge at the base of Cranmore Mountain and includes a night-time stroll through a haunted walkway to the Quad. After the 7-minute ride to the 2,000 foot summit of Cranmore, visitors tour the Ghoullog.
New for this year, Cranmore will offer an indoor Fun Zone. It will be staged in the resort’s 10th Mountain Pavilion. The Fun Zone will feature a giant inflatable 65-foot obstacle course. Friends can race through the course two at a time. The course costs just $5 for unlimited runs.
The ghoul-fest will offer refreshments in Zip's Pub, rechristened as the "Boobonic Pub" for the event. New for this year, the Ghoullog will feature an outdoor food court offering fair food favorites like fried dough, sausage, pepper and onion sandwiches, popcorn, caramel apples, hot cocoa, hot cider and coffee.
Event dates are Thurs. 10/2 – Sat. 10/4; Fri. 10/10 – Sun. 10/12; Fri. 10/17 – Sat. 10/18; Fri. 10/24 – Sat. 10/25; and Thurs. 10/30 – Sat. 11/1.
Doors open at 5pm with ticket sales, the Boobonic Pub, Food Court and Fun Zone at that time. The Ghoullog attraction runs from 7-10pm. For Halloween Weekend only, 10/31 – 11/1, the Ghoullog will run extended hours from 6:30pm – 10:30pm.
The Ghoullog is recommended for ages 10 and up and parental discretion is advised. The Children’s Fall Festival is for all ages. The Ghoullog is a joint production of Cranmore Mountain and Death Becomes You Productions.
