Cranmore Opens for Top to Bottom Skiing on Saturday, December 6

NORTH CONWAY, NH – Thanks to cold weather and early snow fall, Cranmore is looking forward to opening for its 71st season of continuous operations on Sat. Dec. 6th with top to bottom skiing, served by its high speed express quad.

“Our current plan is to open from the summit with Schneider to Artist Falls trail down to Beginner’s Luck. We also will be running our South Chair with access to favorites like the South Slope,” stated Ben Wilcox, Cranmore GM.

Current projections call for 6-10 trails this weekend and 4 lifts, including the Beginner Basin area with a magic carpet style service lift, great for beginners and children learning to ski and snowboard.  The Lucky Loop Terrain Park will open on Beginner’s Luck, with a number of rails and elements set up and serviced by the Lucky Loop lift. Terrain for beginners and intermediates will be available, with intermediate terrain only off the summit.

“Colder weather and snowmaking temperatures are expected to return starting Thursday into Friday, with a chance of snow in the forecast as well. With this outlook, we expect to increase the trail count over the weekend,” stated Mountain Operations Director Jimmy Mersereau.

Cranmore Snowsports School is offering a special early season rate for private lessons, just $60 for 1 hour, or 2 hours for $90. Those wishing to take a group lesson can purchase a Learn to Ski/Learn to Ride lesson package. It costs just $89 and includes two hour lesson, rentals, and beginner lift access (ages 13 and up).

Cranmore opens for 7 day a week operations starting Saturday.  Hours of operation are 8:30-4pm weekends and 9am – 4pm weekdays. Night skiing begins Christmas Vacation week.

Early season ticket rates are $42 for teens and adults (ages 13 and up) and $31 for kids 6-12 and seniors 65+. Kids 5 and under ski for free as always.

Also open this weekend is the Arctic Blast Tubing Park, with 3 lanes of lift-serviced snow tubing. The park is open early season hours on Sat. & Sun. from 9-4 with $22 admission for 2 hours of sliding fun. The park opened last weekend with a great turnout. “Thanksgiving weekend, we experiencing mid-winter conditions and visits,” stated Tubing Park Manager Brian Callanan. “This was a very strong start to the season for us. It was great to open with all 3 lanes in the lower park and the tubing lift operating.”

All operations are weather dependent and guests are encouraged to call ahead or visit cranmore.com for snow conditions.
