$3.30 Lift Tickets at Cranmore's “Ticket Roll Back” Day, Fri. Dec. 21st
NORTH CONWAY,
NH – Cranmore kicks off its Platinum year with a special 70th
anniversary lift ticket price on Friday, December 21, 2007, when the venerable
resort will roll back the clocks and offer a full day ticket for only $3.30 for
all ages. That’s what skiers were paying back when World War II was looming and
FDR was in the White House … and Cranmore first operated the Skimobile. No
advance purchase is necessary and the offer is open to the general public.
Also on the 21st, the resort is also hosting a special event open to the public and attended by area
school children who have recently completed a ski history project in
conjunction with Ski New Hampshire as part of its “Earn Your Turns” program.
Over 50 fourth grade students from Madison
Elementary School and North Conway’s John Fuller
Elementary School will
attend the event, as will Herbert Schneider, son of Cranmore’s Skimeister,
Hannes Schneider. Herbert Schneider owned and operated the resort for twenty
years. Ski historian Tom Eastman will also be on hand to talk with students
about Cranmore and its history.
The ticket roll back
day is just the first in a series of special offers marking Cranmore’s 70th.
All winter long, skiers and riders will find online ticket specials that
commemorate the birthday. $70 will get skiers
a Weekender lift ticket at Cranmore.com, valid for 20 hours of skiing; from
8:30a.m. Saturday through Saturday night at 9p.m., then all day Sunday ‘til
4p.m. Other specials include a 2-fer Sunday Special, only $70 for two all day
Sunday lift tickets when purchased online. Both ticket offers are good for any
non-holiday period when purchased 2 days in advance.
“There are very few
ski areas that are so beloved that they have thrived for 70 years,” stated
Cranmore GM, Ben Wilcox, “We are rolling back prices on December 21 to thank
our long time customers for helping us reach this milestone.”
Attendance is expected
to be brisk on December 21, 2007, the Friday before the important
Christmas holiday vacation week. While advance ticket purchase is not
mandatory, customers can expect to spend less time in the ticket line by purchasing their $3.30 lift
tickets online at Cranmore.com. The resort will also open its Arctic Blast
Tubing Park
on the 21st from 9am-4pm and will offer a full array of skier
services including equipment rentals, lessons, food service and live
entertainment in Zip’s Pub from 3-5pm.
