Dear Mountain Meisters:
We’d like to thank you for coming back to Cranmore Mountain this winter for the 39th season of Mountain Meisters. It’s the largest recreational race league in the nation and we couldn’t do it without you.
As you may be aware, Cranmore started working with a new food and beverage service last June. Thanks to the investment made by Centerplate, we were able to invest considerably in our facilities for this winter. One of the biggest investments was changing the Eating House to a restaurant with wait service, updating it from a food court and base lodge. The new restaurant set up has been popular with guests visiting us on weekends and holidays.
However, we have received a lot of feedback on the new set up from our Meister racers and have shared your concerns with Mike Rennie, our new food and beverage director from Centerplate. Mike relocated to North Conway this summer and has quickly become an indispensible part of the Cranmore team along with his wife Sabrina. Mike is committed to making our new food and beverage operations work for all our customers, including Meisters. Mike is in fact racing on a Meister team this year!
The long and short of it – we have listened to you and are making changes to accommodate Meisters on Wednesday. Starting immediately, we’ll be making the following available to Meisters on race days:
- The lower level of Zip’s Pub & Grill (formerly known as the Eating House) can be used by Meisters for socializing. You can also store your bags in there. The doors will open at 8:30am.
- Zip’s Pub will be open at 11am and offer a pub menu. There will still be wait service available in the facility for those who want it.
- The Pub will offer specials including $1 off beer and wine, and food specials like Mike’s home made chili with a Tuckerman beer for $10; or a hot dog and PBR for $6.99.
- Meisters can enjoy their food and drinks on the deck off the back of Zip’s. Wait service will also be available on the deck.
- We’ll be lighting up the wood fireplace in the lower level of the Pub as well.
- Kids are welcome to hang out in the lower level of Zip’s on race days as well.
Join us for Meister Apres Ski
Cranmore has long been known as the best place for Wednesday Meister après ski. We hope you’ll come back and be part of the camaraderie Meisters is famous for. We’ll be featuring live music every Wed. from 4-6pm. We’ll be hosting local musicians including Feb. 1 with Ryan St. Onge and the Feb. 8 Mid-season Meister Party with Carl Iacozili.
At every après party, you can check out live timing on the big screen TV, and win prizes in the weekly Meister raffles.

It has been a challenging winter for all of us in the Snowsports industry in New England. It was great seeing you all return to the Meister race course this month. We count on you for your support in the community, and we know many of you appreciate how integral a part Cranmore is in the fabric of North Conway.
